The name Avinashi implies that which cannot be destroyed.Avinashi is a town located in Tirupur district, in the state Tamilnadu in South India. Though it has a separate municipal administration coming under the jurisdiction of the Tirupur district, it is still considered by most as a suburb of Coimbatore.Historically Avinashi is believed to be a part of 'Kongunadu' which had accommodated the districts of Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur and Dharmapuri in ancient times.
